Bryan was born in Winscombe in the Mendips and now live at Stoodleigh in the Exe Valley. After studying at the West of England College of Art in Bristol, 1946-50 and 52-53, specialising in painting, he taught Art and Craft in secondary schools until early retirement in 1983. Bryan taught evening classes at Swindon Art College and tutored in slipware at teachers’ courses. Other work at that time included designing and painting theatre scenery.

Bryan has exhibited paintings, drawings, sculptures and 3D pictures in a variety of venues including a joint, 2 person show at Taunton Museum in 2006. ‘
